Squamish is an incredible place to spend Christmas. With such a warm and welcoming community, visitors and residents can enjoy a huge array of events and activities in the town.
The snow-capped mountains overlooking the valley, the evergreen trees and Christmas lights provide a beautiful backdrop for this magical season.
Here are some of the things taking place in Squamish over Christmas:
A Dickens Christmas
Just south of Squamish the Britannia Mine Museum is hosting a Victorian themed ‘Dickens Christmas’.
Inspired by Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, the Machine Shop features a beautiful ceramic village window display. Visitors are free to explore the centrepiece, along with Santa’s North Pole Toy Shop window display.
The display will be on show every Saturday and Sunday from December 5-20, where visitors can also sit and have their photos taken with Santa.
Take a ride on the Polar Express
Returning for the eighth year running, visitors to the West Coast Railway Heritage Park can take a ride on the Polar Express.
The hour-long train ride includes hot chocolate, cookies, Christmas carols and stories. Passengers will then take a trip to the North Pole Workshop and Gingerbread Village for a chance to meet Mr. and Mrs. Claus themselves.

The Sea-to-Sky Gondola will be hosting Christmas caroling and is encouraging friends and families to make their way up to the Summit Lodge to enjoy some traditional carol singing.
Find out more information about what’s going on, along with other events at the Gondola HERE.
Along with caroling, the Sea-to-Sky Gondola is also hosting Christmas story time for children. Cozy up with your loved ones and enjoy complimentary hot chocolate and cookies, all while being read your favourite holiday tales.
Guests can also write letters to Santa and decorate gingerbread cookies.
