Get Going with the new Sea to Sky Gondola this Spring

Published on

Driving to and from the city, I am sure you have seen the signs of construction happening on the side of Highway 99. With lines in place and jobs being advertised, the Sea to Sky Gondola is getting ready to go for this May. Gondola shed As part of the lead up to the opening, the Sea to Sky Gondola is having an Instagram Contest where the lucky winner gets aseason pass to the Gondola. So, that’s great, but what are you actually getting? A ride up and down on a Gondola? Hmmm. Actually, no. You are getting so much more. Gondola ride Yes, the start of the adventure is a gondola ride. The ride up will take ten minutes and will offer stunning view of the Howe Sound fjord, Shannon Falls and, of course, the Squamish Chief.  Once up, the thrills don’t stop. gondola view Three viewing platforms, a suspension bridge, and access (and accessibility is the name of the game here, with the Gondola and many of the sites being wheelchair and stroller accessible)  to some of the most amazing hiking, back country skiing, biking and sightseeing, it is more than a little daunting just trying to decide what to do! Anticipating this problem, the website offers a number of itineraries to help you plan your adventure. Whether you just want to take a look, or you want to get some serious thrills, there are itineraries to suit.  Taking a look at all the options for summer hiking alone, let alone snowshoeing and backcountry skiing options in the winter, I am now sold on getting a pass!
