The Gran Fondo is on its way through Squamish this Saturday, are you ready for it? Get your bike ready by getting it to Corsa Cycles asap where the staff can give your steed a good going over and get it primed, primped and pumped up. Fuel your own fire by hitting Galileo Coffee Company for some fresh roasted beans that you can grind up to get you going on race morning and keep you going from Vancouver to Britannia Beach where you can fill up again! If you ride past the the mine (see picture) you missed the stop. Not quite ready for the full on Fondo experience? Training time a little short? The Gran Fondo’s little sister, the Medio, is a 55km ride that starts from Squamish and offers plenty of challenges without requiring the same amount of time or training commitment. But isn’t it too late to sign up? Good luck on using that excuse! Registration will be taken in person at the Gran Festa in Vancouver until 8pm Friday, September 6th. So don’t just think about it, put all of that summer riding to the test, enjoy the beauty of the Sea to Sky without the traffic, and get yourself signed up! Just a little fyi: if you are thinking about traveling up or down the Sea to Sky Corridor this weekend – DON’T. The highway is going to be great for biking but a total disaster for driving, check out the GranFondo site for info.
