Mother’s Day Squamish – on the bike?

Published on

Want to get mom a truly “Sea to Sky” mother’s day treat? Don’t treat her to brunch, treat her to a great ride! The Squamish Ore Crusher is the first of the Test of Metal Group of Races. Also known as the Republic of Brackendale Nationals, is a three lap cross-country race through the Cheekeye Fan single-track trails. The course, which totals about 40km, is on green and blue trails and is a great race for mom to start off her mountain bike season. If it’s good for mom, it’s good for you too. Think it’s too easy? Why not try it on a single speed. Taking out the gears makes those piddly false flats a little more challenging! The race is on May 11, and runs 11-4. OrecrusherLogo So, either do it with mom, or cheer her on, cause brunch will be waiting and always tastes better after a great ride! Two great spots to hit up for brunch…The Copper House opposite Shannon Falls, and the Red Bench Diner…try the stack – it’s worth it and you earned it!

If biking is your mother’s day cup of tea, there is always the heading down to the Squamish Yacht Club, where on Saturday they are having a sail past, and on Sunday at Noon, there is the Mother’s Day Breakfast.
