Riding in January – Yes in Squamish!

Riding in January – Squamish is the place to be! Squamish bike 1 It’s spring! I know that the calendar says it is only January, but spring is in the air, on the pavement and in the trails!  While Whistler remains icy and slick, though not very snowy, Squamish is ready for riding, so get off your wind trainer and get outside! The SORCA 2014 Trail Passes are now on sale at CorsaTantalus, and Republic bike shops.100% of trail passes are invested directly in trail maintenance and upgrades like the 50 Shades of Grey climbing trail, Phil and Cam’s extension, and many other projects. Squamish bike trail.jpg Keeping SORCA  going takes volunteers and a strong board. There are a number of positions up for election for a two year term at the A.G.M. (which will be held at the Sandman Hotel on January 15th, 2014): President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, Volunteer Coordinator, Trail Maintenance Coordinator, Downhill Toonie Director, and one of the two Government Liaison positions. If you or someone you know has an interest in any of these positions please attend the A.G.M. and make a nomination when it comes time to elect someone to that position. Squamish bike 3 And it is not just the trails that are good to go! On New Year’s Day 2014 friends went out for a road ride. Yes they had to bundle up a bit, but they still managed to get out for over an hour enjoying the sun and getting a head start on training forIronman 2014 and the Fondo.
