Sea to Sky Gondola opening this weekend!

Published on

Trying to think of something fun to do with the whole family this weekend but don’t want to deal with holiday weekend traffic? How about a trip to see the Howe Sound like you have never seen it before?  How about adding in music from Juno Award winning Cam Salay and Matt Blackman of the Squamtones, singer Jana Lahti and fiddler Jocelyn Pettit? And how about enjoying it with the Howe Sound Brewery’s new Sky Pilot Ale?  All this for a mere $34.95 with discounts for seniors, youth, and families! The answer to all these “How about” questions: The Grand Opening of the Sea to Sky Gondola! The Grand Opening happens on Friday May 16, 2014 from 11am-9pm. Local artist Toby Jaxon will be capturing the colour and light of the venue’s spectacular alpine views on its grand opening day. Live entertainment will be happening from 11am-2pm. Tickets include a round-trip visit to the Summit along with access to the Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge, viewing platforms, trail network, and the Summit.  Once you get to the Summit, be the first to try Howe Sound Brewing’s newest beer while you take in the magnificent view of Sky Pilot and the surrounding landscape.  Sky Pilot Northwest Pale Ale was a collaboration between Sea to Sky Gondola and Howe Sound Brewing. The beer was named after the Sky Pilot massif that can be seen from the Summit Lodge and Sky Pilot Suspension Bridge and is a golden-coloured, smooth and balanced pale ale, with an assertive hop aroma. So, whether you are looking for a new taste in beer, a new view of the Howe Sound, or just something new to do with the family this weekend, get out the door and up the Gondola this weekend for the Grand opening!
