With the recent wave of warm weather it seems that spring has settled early in Squamish. The snow is already receding from the mountains and it’s surprising just how warm it is! With that in mind it’s probably about time to get outside and enjoy the town and surroundings. To help you out we’ve compiled a list of our favourite spring activities in Squamish:
Squamish is not short of hikes at all. Wherever you go there is something to see. Whether it’s the Stawamus Chief or one of the many lake trails. Squamish has 8 local provincial parks offering a huge range of hiking opportunities, so get out and explore!
One of the things Squamish is most famous for is its rock climbing. Every year people flock to the town to test themselves on the local rock, whether bouldering or scaling the Chief, there is something for all abilities. New to the area? Why not check in with one of the local guides who will be happy to point you in the right direction.
If you love biking then you have come to the right place. Squamish has bike trails for everyone, from complete beginner to downhill veteran. There are trails of all types including fun cruises, root-filled technical runs, steep climbs and rewarding downhills. There are so many trails, all developed by SORCA, if you want to get a real taste of Squamish biking it’s best to ask a local. You can even ask one of our Realtors! SORCA also run regular events and races if you’re feeling especially competitive.
With multiple rivers, lakes and an ocean, Squamish is spoilt for choice when it comes to water sports. There is kayaking, SUP, windsurfing and much more. For more information on how to get involved check out Squamish Adventure HERE.
Our list doesn’t end there, spring brings with it warmer weather and a chance to venture back outside for camping. Go out and really explore the area by staying out in the wild (or one of the many camp grounds!). There is also golf, ATV tours, fishing, horseback riding, and of course the new Sea-to-Sky Gondola. We’ve no doubt missed lots of activities so get on social media and let us know your favourite Squamish spring activities!
